Penfield & Earthwatch join forces

Here at Penfield we strongly believe in protecting and sustaining the environment. To ensure we are an ecologically friendly company, we have joined forces with the Earthwatch Institute, an international, non-profit charity that promotes awareness of the social and environmental impact of businesses and individuals alike.

By joining forces with Earthwatch, we will be reviewing every aspect of our business as well as supporting the long-term scientific research that Earthwatch undertakes. Together we will continue to work hard on reducing Penfield’s environmental impact and ensuring we leave a positive legacy for future generations.

Summer in Sag Harbor - Spring/Summer 2013 Photoshoot

Shot on location in the Hamptons, our Spring/Summer 2013 photo shoot took in Southampton's picturesque waterfronts, infinite beach trails and chocolate-box houses. We visited the bustling docks of Sag Harbor and checked out the local markets before boarding the South Ferry to Shelter Island and Sunset Beach.

We had a great time shooting in such a beautiful location and have included some of our favorite "behind-the-scenes" snaps, to give you an idea of what we got up to and what you can expect from our upcoming Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook release.

Penfield for Radio Guru Nepal

At the beginning of 2012, Penfield became involved with non-profit charity Mountain Trust which specializes in promoting and developing education, health and human rights in the central and western regions of Nepal.

After hearing about 'Radio Guru', a special project that distributes FM radios across the country to remote communities who often have little or no education, we were keen to raise awareness about this nice initiative and contribute in any way we could.

Through these wind-up radios, the charity broadcasts the national curriculum for one hour every day with Mountain Trust aiming to broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. "The inequalities in education are vast, while the lack of stable government means that tools like this are ever more important and we hope that this film help reach the goal of broadcasting 24 hours a day to students of all ages," reported filmmaker Ivan Ogilvie.

Ivan Ogilvie and Anna Martin set out to Nepal to highlight the work done by the charity so we provided clothing and wool hats for the film crew and the children. Ivan and Anna were visiting a small village outside the city of Biharawa, in the Rupendehi district, where the local people had donated land in order to build a school. The crew has now returned with some great photos that we are delighted to share with you here.
