We are proud to present "Race for the Summit", a groundbreaking game that takes you on a web quest for the ultimate Summit down parka, a one-off piece specially designed for the competition

"Race for the Summit" will take you on an online trail, around some of our favourite blogs, in search for the answers to ten clues that are to be released over four weeks starting November 17th, 2011.

With two clues released each week, there are plenty of chances to take part and put your ingenuity to the test. Everything is done online from the comfort of your home (or office) and you can join at any time until the submission deadline on Monday, December 19, 2011.
 
The Prizes

1st Prize: One-off, custom made 'Race for the Summit' parka



The winners will be announced on December 20th, 2011 with a very special first prize of a one-off, custom-made “Race for the Summit” premium down insulated parka.

Featuring a completely exclusive, distinct burnt orange colorway, the “Race for the Summit” premium down insulated parka comes in a brand new 70/30 fabric: this lightweight 70% cotton 30% nylon fabric is perfect for outdoor conditions. Because of the tightly woven construction, it is classified as down proof and windproof. DWR and Teflon ® coatings provide a water and stain resistant surface making it as useful in the elements as for everyday use.

The detachable and fully adjustable coyote fur hood, combined with an internal waist cinch, allows you to customize the fit and feel of your parka providing maximum comfort and performance in wind, rain and snow.

A zip and button up front with fleece-lined hand-warmer pockets ensure that you stay cozy and dry when the temperature drops.

2nd Prize: 1 of 3 Classic Summit down insulated parkas



First released in the late 1970's, the Summit parka has quickly become a staple style in Penfield’s Winter collections.

An original style updated for Fall/Winter 2011, the Summit is a short parka heavily insulated with premium 80/20 down. The Teflon® coated 60/40 cotton nylon keeps the wind out, provides good water resistance and is available in a number of colors, including 70’s inspired Red Oxide and Cobalt Blue.

A double storm flap provides essential protection, with durable metal snaps enclosing the front zip to keep the moisture out. Two front patch pockets and two angled hand-warmer pockets provide ample storage.

3rd Prize: 1 of 5 Classic Outback down insulated vests



Another 1970’s style, the Outback is revered as one of the most recognizable Penfield styles and has consistently been celebrated as a durable yet fashionable piece.

Constructed in our tough 60/40 cotton nylon and insulated with 80/20 premium down, the vest is designed to allow maximum freedom of movement while protecting you from the cold weather.

The Outback vest exemplifies the ethos of what it is to be Penfield - a classic look, unsurpassed quality, and eminent style.

4th Prize: 1 of 20 Sanford bobble beanies



In addition, 20 Sanford bobble beanies are available to runners-up ensuring that a good number of participants will also benefit from taking part in the competition.

If you solve the first clue before the next clue has been released you will be presented with the blog in which the next answer will be hidden along with the date that the next clue will be issued.

Two clues are released each week culminating in the final clue to be given out on December 15th, 2011. With new clues revealed every Tuesday and Thursday, there are plenty of chances to take part in this game of detection and put your wits and ingenuity to the test. The competition is Smartphone and iPad compatible and you can join at any time until the submission deadline on Monday, December 19, 2011.

There are plenty of prizes up for grabs and the winners will be announced on December 20th, 2011 with a very special first prize of a one-off, custom- made 'Race for the Summit' premium down insulated parka. In addition, 3 classic Summit down insulated parkas, 5 Outback down insulated vests and 20 Sanford beanies from Penfield's Fall/Winter 2011 collection are available to runners-up.

2. The clue - These will be released twice a week. The release date for the next one will be specified in the waypoint above.
3. You can enter as many answers as you want. Once you have correctly submitted the answer the next waypoint will be revealed.
